Busy Weekend

I took the kids to huckleberry junction pizza playplace yesterday along with my brother and his gf and her little brother, Kollin(6) and sister, Keeley(3). The kids had a blast playing in the playplace, riding the rides and playing games. They got along great too. And surprisingly, I felt much better after going. Before we left, my brother mentioned bringing them back after we all went to look at the houses for me again. (had a 4oclock appt for showings). So, at the houses, the kids spent much energy running around in the yards. Then when we went back, Jeremy went and so did Tiffney, Jason and their kids. They all played hard again and had a blast. Makenneh was hesitant at first about climbing and running around in the playplace. But once she warmed up to it, she was in there laughing so jovially it was beautiful. Sebastian loved riding in the little ferrari. He grabbed the wheel and looked just like a lil speed racer! Typical Boy, huh? He also would have loved to get into the play place...he kept crawling up to the entrance, climbing around it and laughing. Give him a few months and he will ready to rip tear through there like the rest of em. Or so he will think!

Needless to say, both kids were exhausted by day's end. My aunt michelle was keeping Makenneh for the night, so after Huckleberry, we headed to her place. Then Jeremy and I went to Tiff and Jason's and hung out for a couple hours. I was whipped by the time we made it back home at nearly 1am.

Then, today, I went with Tiff to the Bay City Mall where my sister and her fiance were contestants in a "newlywed" game to win a $15k wedding package. Well, they came in last, but boy did we have some laughs. I got to go without my kids...what a pleasure that was. To top it off, i hit the clearance section at Lane Bryant and got some new clothes and used my discount coupon. What more could a girl ask for?

So here is a quick summary of the newlywed game they played!
Question to Ralph...If you could take your fiancee on any dream vacation where would she say she wants to go?
Ralph's Answer:(after some thought): Kentucky. but wait they get better
Q: If Carrie were stranded on a deserted island...what is the first thing she would crave?
A: A can of chew! yes, dear Ralphie exposed Carrie for the true hillbilly that she is, in front of many at the mall!!!! But boy did we all laugh...do you see the whole hillbilly theme here? So the radio dj was raggin them about taking her to kentucky and buyin her a can of chew. LOL. And you wondered why they lost?!! As it turns out though, its just as well. They want to get married 07/07/07. In order to accept the prizes they would have to get married this year..but for 15k in prizes....thats flexible. Well, when they got to the mall where the contest was held, they learned the breakdown of the prize package! Here's what i recall:
*$8k goes toward having your photos in a photo spread in some new magazine coming out! Big Freakin deal....and this helps a couple with their wedding, how? (Damn, there goes Carrie's shot at her modeling career right...lol).
*$500 towards photography with the photographer sponsoring the event. They are very pricey and that 500 is gonna maybe cover a deposit.
*$250 wedding night hotel package. Ok, did you notice the night...as in 1 night with a jacuzzi room and bottle of champagne! Ok....J and I got a waterfront room at a H0liday Inn with a jacuzzi for 109.00..without reserving ahead. I think you can get a decent bottle of champage for less than $141 or whatever the difference in price is...lol
*Oh and lets not leave out the yoga classes! Because we all know that Ralph and Carrie are dying t0 practice yoga
*$150 wok (yes as in a pan used to cook chinese food) from Tupperware! (shucks...no chinese cuisine in the Burger house now!)
*$350 makeup pkg from Mary Kay! (Hope they don't plan on doing to the bride what they wanted to do for me for my wedding----make me up to look like a freakin circus clown....bright pink and purple eyeshadow and all.)
*Free tux rental for groom and Best man. Except that the groom always gets a free tux rental and the best man has to pay for his own anyway and also After Hours always has the wheel u can spin for a free tux rental. Big deal.

So as you can see, the great majority of the $15k is spent already on silly prizes that arent really a big help.
So, she would have bumped her wedding up to this year, still shell out all the money for the wedding just to get a spread in a magazine and a wok from tupperware...lol. It just seems that it would have been more practical (and just as much money...if not less) to offer things such as hair and makeup for wedding party, invitations, a few nights stay in a hotel, photography (maybe evn just engagement pics and a certificate towards cost), ring bearer pillow and flower girl basket, cake servers, flutes, guest book, things that actually can be useful to a couple planning a wedding! But anyway, we don't plan these things so such it is. But the package was still ok...its things you normally wouldnt do or care so much about for a wedding, but still free things you dont have to pay for. Just not a package worth changing your wedding date so drastically. And to think Carrie was ready to cuff Ralph when he kept giving wrong answers....lol!

Ok im gonna try to load some pics both of huckleberry excursion and from the mall.
