I decided to make a pinata for the bday party. I had seen a how to on the NickJr site and thought it would be cute and easy and God knows, much cheaper than buying one. So, anyway, earlier this week, i did the paper mache stuff....covering the inflated balloon in strips of newspaper covered in flour/water mix. Wonderful...i forgot just how messy that stuff was. So, i overdid the glue mix a little, i think, bc it took two days to dry. Tonight, i sat out to paint it, etc. Oh and did i mention that today, while out shopping, i changed the plans....it is now going to be a dora head instead of a sunflower. HAHAH. So, i had to paint the thing and draw a face! Now, i cannot draw a stick figure usually and was interested to see how this face drawing business would turn out, especially seems how it needed to look like someone specific. I am proud to report that i think it turned out quite nice so far. I still have to do the hair. Mom thought she had enough felt but its not enough. That will be crammed into the rest of the last minute stuff I have yet to do. But, I am already sooo proud of that pinata! As soon as I get it finished, i will post pics. The only thing is, I feel bad because there is more Dora than Diego for the party. But thats bc Diego is a newer show. Oh well, such is life. Its still going to be a great party, except that damn weather. As of right now, they are saying 45 for the high. =( The good news is they are no longer talking about a chance of rain=)
Also, I think I have finally decided what to do with my life...careerwise. LOL. My brother's gf, Sara called to ask if i would do her mom's taxes and her mom's bf's taxes and if so, how much I would charge. Well, I said i would, but i hate naming a price. I mean, im not certified in taxes or anything....i just took 3.5 yrs of accounting in High School and that's the closest to it Ive come. But, i have always understood them, done my own, my brother's my sisters, etc. So, I think that I need to go take some Tax Preparation Classes and start doing taxes out of my home. The irony of this is, when i started high school, i thought I wanted to be an accountant, took all the accounting classes my high school offered, until my Senior year, almost half way through, when i thought, I do not want to just deal with numbers the rest of my life. Ok I will admit, i knew absolutely nothing of computers back then and the 2nd semester of 4th yr accounting was computerized accounting. So, i was intimidated by the computers. I wasn't even sure how to turn the damn things on. I know, most ppl would never believe that story now. But anyway, now, almost a decade later, I am thinking that I should go into tax preparation=dealing with numbers! But you know, numbers dont talk back, they dont whine, they cop attitudes, they don't shit, they don't need to be fed....you get my drift.
And speaking of dealing with ppl (inadvertantly anway), We had the most horrible experience EVER at walmart today! I was ready for a rampage! We were standing in the card aisle...and Makenneh started to pee through her pull up. Tiffney said, oh my god...she is peeing. So, we were all standing there, kinda frozen, when a voice from behind my mom and Kathy says,"well you wil lhave to get maintenance to clean that up." Came off sounding completely snotty. I turned and started to say, ummm and you didn't think we would...when someone with us asked "do you work here" and she said yes. Then Tiff said, we will clean it up, its just a few drops...no big deal and Kathy said, well, can't you get maintenance then? The lady says, "well someone's gonna have to stay here until they get here to clean it up." UMMMM hello! We planned on it. For one, I had to get Makenneh to the bathroom to finish peeing and clean her up. So, i was already charged bc that worker made us out to be some horrid creeps that were just gonna walk away and leave piss on her precious floor. So, i grabbed Kenneh's hand and headed to the back to the bathrooms. On the way back there, I was brainstorming how I could deal with her wet pants. I thought I would toss the pull up, obviously as it was soaked. And then, I thought, I could get a pair of pants/shorts to put on her and of course, pay for them when we got to check out. Mind you, my purse and all was in the cart, let with the group i was with. So, i stop at a rack, find her size and ask a worker standing nearby if it would be ok to put these on my daughter, save the tag and pay for them when we got to check out(which is where were headed when she peed through in the first place). She got an attitude and said, I will have to walk you to the register to pay for them. WTF??!!! So, if i would have come up to just purchase them, that's fine, but bc i ASK you if i can do it this way, you have to fucking escort me to the register like a common criminal? I didn't say all that part, but i damn sure wanted to. So, i said, well, my purse is back wtih the group of ppl I am with...i have nothing with me and the registers are up front, i am back here and need to get these clothes off her. She says, well we the jewelry counter is right there (could check them out there). I repeated that i didnt have my purse or anything, that it was all up front in the aise she peed in. Finally, knowing that poor Makenneh is holding the rest of her pee this hole time, i put the shorts down and tell makenneh to come on. AS i was walking away, I said, If i was going to fricken steal them I sure the hell wouldn't have asked you first! I get a few steps and she calls out, politely, "Ma'am", to which i ignore. I was so fed up with the shitty service of this God forsaken store that I just wanted to get her out of the pissy pull up and get out of there. I didn't even want to buy the stuff I had picked up bc I was livid. Well, i get that all taken care of, put her wet pants back on her, with no pull up and head back to the aisle they were in. As im going, the first worker who got shitty with us about the pee says she is sorry it came off so mean, but that she needed someone to stay there until it was cleaned up, blah blah blah, bc i honestly didn't even bother listening to to it all, i grinned and said, um ok and went on my way. Get to the check outs and Kathy was just finished talking to the manager. she was pissed that that lady spoke to us that way when we were customers in that store. She told the manager that she didn't want to buy her stuff and my mom spoke up saying the same thing. The shitty thing was we spent all that time in there, and really it was stuff we needed for this party on Saturday. But boy was my blood boiling. Their customer service sucks cowpies. I hate it.
Maybe the frustration contributed to my artistic talent this evening though when doing that pinata....lol.
